Kathina Pinkama
The end of
the rain retreat will be celebrated on 18th November 2012. It is
customary to offer robes to the monks – a set of robe cost RM100 each. For each
donation of RM100, Wat Puthanimittam will present a Buddha relic bracelet known
as the Sarira, the remains of a pearl like translucent beads. They are believed
to emit spiritual power and to ensure that the presence of the Buddha is
perpetuated. If one has faith in the Buddha relic, it is like having a
realization that the Buddha is living within one’s mind. This will help to
overcome problems and obstacles.
