The end of the rain retreat will be celebrated on 18^th November 2012. It is customary to offer robes to the monks – a set of robe cost RM100 each. For each donation of RM100, Wat Puthanimittam will present a Buddha relic bracelet known as the Sarira, the remains of a pearl like translucent beads. They are believed to emit spiritual power and to ensure that the presence of the Buddha is perpetuated. If one has faith in the Buddha relic, it is like having a realization that the Buddha is living within one’s mind. This will help to overcome problems and obstacles.

Consecration of the Sarita image of Lord Buddha

Thank you for choosing Wat Puthanimittam to celebrate Wesak Day(Visakha Bucha) which simultaneously commemorates three important anniversaries in the life of Lord Buddha : his birth, his enlightenment and his death.

If Buddha has a message to world human, it possibly is to cherish others and putting effort into developing a good heart everywhere. Be kind to animals, human beings can talk, complain, go to the police but animals can do nothing. So please practice compassion for others and live to benefit others.

This year Wesak Day is celebrated on 5^th May 2012.

Program :

• 4^th May 2012 – There will be distribution of essential necessities to 300 senior citizens aged 60 years and above. The program commences from 8.30am onwards. Please be punctual with numbered cards for verification.
• 5^th May 2012 – Main event commences from :
• 9.30am – Gathering of devotees
• 10.30am – Chanting of Paritta Suttas by the venerable monks
• 11.30am – Offering of food to the venerable monks
• 12.00pm – Vegetarian lunch for devotees
• 8.30 pm - Chanting of the Paritta Suttas by the venerable monks follow by circumambulation of the statue of Lord Buddha.
