The Venerable Ajahn Phra Sunti Kamapirato - he seeks the great, deep simple things of the Buddhist faith and spend his life doing the will of Lord Buddha.
The Venerable Ajahn Phra Sunti Kamapirato is born in Rayong, Thailand. He developed an earnest interest in Dhamma at an early age, engrossed in listening and contemplating Dhamma. The Venerable Ajahn sought the permission of his parents to commence formal training as a samanera leading to him being ordained as a monk at the age of 22 years in the temple in Rayong.
He has travelled, finally finding his spiritual place at Taman Kemuncak, Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia to build his monastery and disseminate the teachings of Lord Buddha. The Venerable Ajahn is a theravada monk by discipline. Life as a monk in Ipoh began in a small "kuthi" at the foot hills of Perajurit 1, Taman Kemuncak, Ipoh. But it is through sheer discipline, his love for the teachings of Lord Buddha and his passion to bring the vast teachings of Gotama Buddha to the Buddhist lay community that motivate him and inspire his disciples to support and finance his vision.
They said that pictures paint a thousand words and if one is to view the attached photographs, the local Buddhist community is fortunate to have in their midst, a great teacher, a teacher not captivated by fame but is sincere in his humble efforts to establish a sanctuary where Buddhist can visit to practice dana, develop sila and cultivate bhavana. Here is a sanctuary where the keyword is "to practise". It is good to read books and listen to speeches on Dhamma, ultimately to be a good Buddhist is to practice and to put into effect the wise teachings of the Lord Buddha.

The vicinity of Wat Puthanimittam is indeed a blessed place, a good place. It is sheltered by a mountain, smooth and lustrous, lofty and pure. In the center, sits the 33 feet tall statue of Lord Buddha. An ideal place to contemplate on the teachings of Lord Buddha and to meditate - to look at the habits of our minds and to review the opinions and prejudices that conditioned them. We have the opportunity to become enlightened here - to know and understand our minds so that we no longer are deluded by them.
