Phra Nang Phaya, considered the number one amulet of Phitsanulok is a clay amulet of a seated Buddha. Majority of Thai public would position Nang Phaya as third ranking amongst the five most popular great votive groups of images.
Nang Phaya has four centuries history behind its development, majority were discovered in the grounds of Wat Nama Phaya and some nearby Wat Nama Rajburana. Wat Nama Phaya was built by King Naresuan to create merits for his mother, Queen Visutkasatri. Some stories claimed they were made by the Queen herself.
Wearers claim the amulets provide them with great fortune and loving-kindness. Others are blessed with respect from peers and safety from dangers.
You don't need to cough out a lot of blood to own a Nang Phaya. Wat Puthanimittam presents you one in return for RM100 donation to the Wat for its upkeep and expansion programme.
IN THE NANG PHAYA, SEEK GUIDANCE WHEN ONE IS WEAK IN WILL OR LOW IN SPIRIT.
