PHRA NANG PHAYA

We are in the midst of the Buddhist Lent or the Karthina Festival, the 3 months rain season or vassa where the sangha community spend their time in their residence of choice in quiet dharmic contemplation. The festival ends with a presentation of robes to the sangha community. At Wat Puthanimittam, this year Lent donations will be used for the construction of a pair of celestial dragons, the powerful symbol of fertility and wealth, in the vicinity of the Wat. In appreciation of your contribution of RM100 per set of monk's robe, the donor will be presented with a miniature statuette of the Phra Nang Phaya, the all powerful Buddhist relic which has been consecrated in holy grounds for 200 years and accidentally discovered through the graciousness of the Lord Buddha. Please take the time to visit us to help translate this auspicious dream of the Venerable Phra Sunti Kamapirato, the abbot of the Wat, to reality
