  • Dhamma in Motion____________awake your senses to the sounds of dhamma, awaken the faith in you.

To become a Buddhist, the first step is to take refuge in the Buddha,Dhamma and Sangha. When one observes the world,a Buddhist would notice the pain of frustrations and sufferings.He/she will seek refuge in a strong shelter_where one knows who the Buddha is and how Buddha,Dhamma and the Sangha can provide the shelter he/she seeks. The path to Nibbana for the lay Buddhists comes in one way Dana_Sila_Bhavanna.

Dana

Lay Buddhists acquire wealth through right livelihood to accumulate wealth to support family, sangha and the buddha sasana and in doing so reap merits to gain mundane benefits here and hereafter.Without this support, the Buddha sasana would come to an end and the monks would not be able to practice meditation worrying for their subsistence. We have to make special efforts to give constantly until generosity is part of our character, provide the four requisites for the sangha community-robes,monastery-shelter,medicines and alms food. In Wat Puthanimittam, there is a special age old ritual of offering food to the sangha community and in place, where transference of merits to the donor/s is accorded. For furthur information of the plan in place, please contact Eric @ 0175029938 or Madam Low Eng Choo @ 017-5781781.Endeavour to make contributions each month, invest in your children's future through accumulating lots of merits for them.If a person makes contributions to society through a long-term effort,Buddha will not forget and will double its return.Chose to live in a grateful world, build spiritual wealth that comes with philantrophy.

Sila_________Bhavana

The cultivation of morality is akin to the observation of the five precepts.
  • Abstain from killing human beings
  • Abstain from stealing
  • Abstain from sexual misconduct
  • Abstain from lying and false speech
  • Abstain from drugs and intoxicants

At Wat Puthanimittam,we have in place training practices to cultivate bhavana to acquire wisdom.Endeavour to be a good Buddhist, acknowledge the healing and uniting power of prayers and meditation.Lift up your concern in prayers.Insight meditation brings into light parts that have been denied, suppressed and repressed and helps in anger and fear management.Metta meditation can help transform greed and envy into compassionate actions. For furthur information on the prayer and meditation sessions at the wat, please contact Andy Fuan @016-5942575.

Wat Puthanimittam has been running Light a Yellow candle........campaign to emphasize the benefits of light offerings...to eliminate darkness in our quests to achieve penetrative wisdom and clarity and radiance of complexions and repeated rebirths in the celestial and human realms. A popular choice near exam times to eliminate darkness and harness wisdom.

Light a candle...and as Lord Buddha reminds us on his deathbed....be the light yourself reminding us of the buddha potential in each of us.

We are not merely human beings going through a temporary spiritual experience....the next time the sangha community of Wat Puthanimittam needs you........just be there.Stay.

Phra Nang Phaya, considered the number one amulet of Phitsanulok is a clay amulet of a seated Buddha. Majority of Thai public would position Nang Phaya as third ranking amongst the five most popular great votive groups of images.

Nang Phaya has four centuries history behind its development, majority were discovered in the grounds of Wat Nama Phaya and some nearby Wat Nama Rajburana. Wat Nama Phaya was built by King Naresuan to create merits for his mother, Queen Visutkasatri. Some stories claimed they were made by the Queen herself.

Wearers claim the amulets provide them with great fortune and loving-kindness. Others are blessed with respect from peers and safety from dangers.

You don't need to cough out a lot of blood to own a Nang Phaya. Wat Puthanimittam presents you one in return for RM100 donation to the Wat for its upkeep and expansion programme.

PHRA NANG PHAYA

We are in the midst of the Buddhist Lent or the Karthina Festival, the 3 months rain season or vassa where the sangha community spend their time in their residence of choice in quiet dharmic contemplation. The festival ends with a presentation of robes to the sangha community. At Wat Puthanimittam, this year Lent donations will be used for the construction of a pair of celestial dragons, the powerful symbol of fertility and wealth, in the vicinity of the Wat. In appreciation of your contribution of RM100 per set of monk's robe, the donor will be presented with a miniature statuette of the Phra Nang Phaya, the all powerful Buddhist relic which has been consecrated in holy grounds for 200 years and accidentally discovered through the graciousness of the Lord Buddha. Please take the time to visit us to help translate this auspicious dream of the Venerable Phra Sunti Kamapirato, the abbot of the Wat, to reality

The Venerable Ajahn Phra Sunti Kamapirato

The Venerable Ajahn Phra Sunti Kamapirato - he seeks the great, deep simple things of the Buddhist faith and spend his life doing the will of Lord Buddha.

The Venerable Ajahn Phra Sunti Kamapirato is born in Rayong, Thailand. He developed an earnest interest in Dhamma at an early age, engrossed in listening and contemplating Dhamma. The Venerable Ajahn sought the permission of his parents to commence formal training as a samanera leading to him being ordained as a monk at the age of 22 years in the temple in Rayong.

He has travelled, finally finding his spiritual place at Taman Kemuncak, Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia to build his monastery and disseminate the teachings of Lord Buddha. The Venerable Ajahn is a theravada monk by discipline. Life as a monk in Ipoh began in a small "kuthi" at the foot hills of Perajurit 1, Taman Kemuncak, Ipoh. But it is through sheer discipline, his love for the teachings of Lord Buddha and his passion to bring the vast teachings of Gotama Buddha to the Buddhist lay community that motivate him and inspire his disciples to support and finance his vision.

They said that pictures paint a thousand words and if one is to view the attached photographs, the local Buddhist community is fortunate to have in their midst, a great teacher, a teacher not captivated by fame but is sincere in his humble efforts to establish a sanctuary where Buddhist can visit to practice dana, develop sila and cultivate bhavana. Here is a sanctuary where the keyword is "to practise". It is good to read books and listen to speeches on Dhamma, ultimately to be a good Buddhist is to practice and to put into effect the wise teachings of the Lord Buddha.

Wat Puthanimittam and its sangha community believe in the healing and unifying powers of prayers and meditation. To lift up your concern in prayers is to delete the great misfortune of unoffered prayers. For prayers and meditation enquiries, please contact Andy Fuan at 016-5942575. In prayers, we seek to become who we are meant to be.

The vicinity of Wat Puthanimittam is indeed a blessed place, a good place. It is sheltered by a mountain, smooth and lustrous, lofty and pure. In the center, sits the 33 feet tall statue of Lord Buddha. An ideal place to contemplate on the teachings of Lord Buddha and to meditate - to look at the habits of our minds and to review the opinions and prejudices that conditioned them. We have the opportunity to become enlightened here - to know and understand our minds so that we no longer are deluded by them.

The sangha community and its disciples thank you for taking the time to know us, please take the time to visit us. To know about the dana activities, please contact Madam Low Eng Choo at 017-5781781 (English,Chinese & Thai speaking disciples) or email us at watputhanimittam@live.com.
